RMT Megan Rivard

Megan Rivard

Megan is convinced that being an (RMT) Registered Massage Therapist is the best job ever and believes that doing what you love is the greatest gift that you can give to the world.

Megan Rivard was born and raised on Vancouver Island and feels blessed to still call it home. She is a 2012 graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s 3,000-hour RMT program and is a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia. She has taken a wide spectrum of continuing education courses focused on the treatment of athletic injuries, soft tissue damage from motor vehicle accidents, TMJ dysfunction, tension headaches, low-back pain, repetitive strain injuries, as well as pre and post natal care.

Her philosophy is to treat the body as a whole, addressing both the symptoms and underlying cause of dysfunction in order to decrease both physical and emotional stress. Her intention with each treatment is to acknowledge the intelligence of the body, and to work with it, not against it. She often incorporates trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, joint mobilizations, myo-fascial release and facilitated stretching into her practice. Megan hopes that you leave each session with a solid understanding of what’s currently going on in your body, why it’s happening and what you can do to prevent it in the future.

She strongly believes in the integration of other therapies, such as physiotherapy, acupuncture and chiropractic care for optimal results. She’s very enthusiastic about self care and believes its absolutely essential in becoming the healthiest version of yourself. Megan is grateful for the opportunity to share her knowledge with the community and looks forward to being a part of your health care plan!

Outside of the treatment room, Megan can be found flowing on her yoga mat, searching for Victoria’s best soy chai, running along Dallas road, petting other peoples dogs or googling ways to keep her house plants alive.

Taryn Krizan Registered Massage TherapistVictoria B

Taryn Krizan

Hello! My name is Taryn Krizan and I am a Registered Massage Therapist. I am proud to be a member of the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia and I have been massaging since 2003. I have experience in a therapeutic and sports clinic working alongside chiropractors and a Physiotherapists. The clinic drew a diverse clientele, giving me extensive experience with pregnancy and migraine patients. I have training in Myofascial Release and Shiatsu, which I can incorporate into my typical Deep Tissue treatment. I have additional training in Craniosacral Therapy, Aromatherapy, Active Isolated Stretching, Reiki and I am a certified Reflexologist.

I became interested in massage therapy by accident: its amazing healing power was revealed to me while I was treated for injuries from two separate automobile mishaps. Also, my massage therapist was someone who really loved her job! Having a love of sciences with an electronics – design background (energy and systems), it made perfect sense to move forward into a role as a massage therapist (energy and systems).

Each treatment is personalized and will draw from a variety of areas of my education and training. My intention is to provide you with a holistic treatment – working with your body’s innate ability to heal itself. I also believe the best course of action is injury prevention and self – maintenance and I would love to work out a treatment plan with you.

When not massaging you could probably find me spending time with my amazing family, digging in the dirt, walking Miss Stella and Luna my terrier friends from Boston, renovating or even kick boxing. I am always up for the challenge! Let me support you and let massage therapy be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen. All ages welcome!
